Schools and professionals play an important role in helping eligible families hear about HAF and get support to take part.
Who can take part?
HAF is mainly for school-aged children from Reception to Year 11 who meet the Targeted Free School Meals rules. Who can take part?
Help families hear about HAF
Please share HAF information through the channels families already use, for example:

parent apps and email newsletters

school websites and social media
-
posters or flyers
-
conversations with trusted staff such as SENCOs, pastoral teams, family support workers and attendance teams.
Keep messages short, welcoming and stigma-free. Remind families when bookings open and share the direct Eequ booking link.
Professional referrals
A limited number of HAF places can be used for children who do not meet the Targeted FSM rules but who meet Dudley’s discretionary criteria. Where a professional referral is appropriate, use the agreed Eequ referral process. A referral does not guarantee a funded place and eligibility must be confirmed before attendance.

If a family needs help with the online booking process, please support them to access Eequ or signpost them to the agreed support route.
