15% Discretionary HAF Places

The main purpose of the HAF Programme is to support children and young people from low income families, with a focus on those who receive benefits-related Free School Meals (FSM).

In line with Department for Education guidelines, across the HAF programme, up to 15% of all places can be offered to children who are not eligible for benefits-related FSM at the discretion of the service providers.

These places are very limited and providers do not have have to allocate the full 15%, priority will be given to FSM eligible families.
